Veitch's Fir, Veitch's Silver Fir, Shikoku Fir or Christmas Tree (Abies veitchii), an evergreen, 20-35m tall conifer native to central and southern Japan. Its purple-blue cones are up to 8cm long. The tree may have quite a broad crown but is often very erect and narrow. The undersides of the foliage are a bright silvery white. Order: Pinales, Family: Pinaceae
