Cedrus - Cedar
A page of stock pictures of cedars (genus Cedrus). The exact nature of the genus Cedrus is the subject of some botanical debate. Some authorities recognise up to 5 species, others consider that all are just forms of two species. The cedars are found from North Africa and the eastern Mediterranean to the Himalayas and are large evergreen conifers with conspicuously tiered branches. There male cones shed copious quantities of pollen and the ovoid female cones are held erect atop the branches.
