Alnus - Alder
A page of stock pictures of alders (genus Alnus). There are around 35 species of trees and shrubs in the genus Alnus. They are deciduous and occur over much of the North Hemisphere. Alders often grow in very damp areas and can be rather too vigorous for city gardens. The produce flower catkins in winter to spring and while these are not especially showy they tend to be conspicuous as they first appear while the plants are leafless.
