International & McCormick Tractors
A page of stock pictures of International and McCormick Deering tractors. Cyrus McCormick (1809-84) began manufacturing farm machinery in 1832 and in 1902 his company merged with Deering to form International Harvester. Their early tractors clearly showed the differing philosophies of the merged companies, the Titan range for the Deering dealers and Moguls for the McCormick franchises. However, by the 1920s the range was fully merged and the names McCormick-Deering and International were interchangeable. The Farmall brand was introduced in 1924 and captured both the spirit of the tractors and the imagination of farmers, continuing to appear on International tractors into the 1970s. International Harvester struck financial trouble in the 1980s and became part of the Tenneco, owners of Case, modern Case tractors carrying the name Case-IH. However, in 2000 AGCO of Italy acquired the McCormick name and the first new McCormick appeared in 2001.
