Cletrac Tractors
Stock photos of Cletrac tractors. Cletrac was known for its tracked tractors and was an early competitor with Holt, Best and then Caterpillar. Cletrac began as the Cleveland Motor Plow Company, became the Cleveland Tractor Company in 1917 and then Cletrac in 1918. Cletrac never produced the large machines that Caterpillar became known for but continued to make tractors, including wheeled models from 1939, until becoming part of Oliver in 1944 after earlier being taken over by B.F. Avery in 1941. The Cletrac models were produced for some years after 1944 by Oliver and sold as Oliver-Cletrac or just Oliver.
