Chamberlain Tractors
Stock photos of Chamberlain tractors. Alan Hawker Chamberlain, known as Bob, was an Australian manufacturer who produced his first tractors in 1949. Although popular at home and also sold in New Zealand, Chamberlain was not a major exporter. After several years of wrangling with changes in government regulation and a takeover bid by Massey Ferguson, Bob Chamberlain resigned from the company in 1956. John Deere purchased a controlling share of Chamberlain in 1970 and for a while several of the then current John Deere models, albeit with local modifications, carried the Chamberlain name or both manufacturers' names in Australia. The company eventually became a subsidiary of John Deere and the Chamberlain name finally disappeared in 1986.
