Case Tractors
A page of stock pictures of Case tractors. Jerome Increase Case began building steam tractors in 1863 and the company produced its first internal combustion engine model in 1911. Their early models were known for their horizontally opposed and cross-mounted motors, though this layout was dropped by the end of the 1920s. Early Case tractor production was at its peak in the 1930s and 40s but the company languished during the 50s and 60s, being acquired by Tenneco in 1967. Tenneco also took over David Brown in 1972 and for some years many Case and David Brown tractors differed little except in colour. In 1985 Tenneco acquired International Harvester, the David Brown name disappeared and the new tractors were named Case IH. Case merged with New Holland in 1999 to become Case New Holland Global.
