Burrell Traction Engines
A page of images of Burrell traction engines or steam tractors. Charles Burrell & Sons Ltd. was a British company that was among the most prolific traction engine manufacturers and their machines are among those most often seen today. They made their first steam engine in 1848 and ceased manufacturing in 1928. Around 400 Burrells have survived into the 21st century, the oldest of which is an 1879 ploughing engine.
