Tigridia
Stock photos of plants of the genus Tigridia, a group of over 20 species of bulbs form Mexico and Guatemala. Despite their subtropical to tropical origins, several species are quite hardy, especially the widely cultivated Tigridia pavonia, which occurs in a range of cultivars of varying flower colour. These bulbs are grown for their flowers, which although individually lasting just a day, are borne over several months. They are sometimes known as Jockey Caps, for the shape of the flower, or Peacock flowers, because of the intricate markings that some carry.
