Corylus - Hazel
Stock photos of ornamental hazels (plants of the genus Corylus). The genus is made up of 15 species of deciduous shrubs and small trees distributed through the northern temperate zones. Their flowers are borne in conspicuous catkins, the male catkins usually occurring in clusters. Hard-cased edible nuts follow. Hazels often show bright autumn foliage colours, often in the gold to orange tones. This page shows hazels cultivated primarily as ornamental plants, though the nuts are of course an important edible crop.
