Calluna - Heather
There is just one species in this genus — the common heather (Calluna vulgaris) — a small evergreen shrub, usually summer- to autumn-flowering, that is found from northern Europe through Eurasia to north-western North America. Heather is very prone to mutations and consequently even though there is just the one species, over 1000 cultivars have been developed. These vary widely in plant size and form, flower color and season, and foliage type and colour.
