Berberis - Barberry
Stock photos of barberries (plants of the genus Berberis), of which there are some 450 species that occur over much of the Northern Hemisphere and also in South America. They are shrubs, often fiercely spiny, that may be evergreen or deciduous. The have small yellow to orange flowers, borne in heads or panicles, that are followed by berries that most often ripen to pink, red or blue-black shades. Barberries are cultivated for their foliage, flower, fruit or form depending on the type. They can be grown as stand-alone plants or used for hedging.
