Weka Pass Railway
The Weka Pass Railway is maintained by a group of rail enthusiasts and runs on an 12.8 kilometre stretch of track between Waipara and Waikari in North Canterbury, New Zealand. Formerly part of a regular service line, the track had been closed for some years before work began in 1982 to remake the currently used section. Until 1988 only 5.2km from Waipara could be used, this was extended to Frog Rock in 1991 and finally to Waikari in 1999.
