Polo
Stock photos of polo. Polo is a game for two teams of four mounted players. It is played on a field up to 300 yards long and 200 yards wide (less if the sidelines are defined by boards). The game consists of up to 8 seven minute sessions called chukkas. After each chukka the riders change horses.
The object is to drive the ball through the eight yard wide goals at either end of the field. The sides toss a coin to decide which end to play from and then change ends after each goal. Polo is an extremely fast and sometimes rugged game that is not only enjoyed by the riders, but also the horses, which revel in an activity that is not far removed from what occurs naturally in a herd at play.
