Lamium - Dead Nettle
Stock photos of plants of the genus Lamium (Dead Nettle), a group of around 50 species of mainly low, creeping annuals and perennials mostly native to the Mediterranean region. The name dead nettle is given because although the plants are related to nettles and may resemble them the leaves do not have stinging hairs — they are "dead". Many of the garden forms have variegated foliage and although rather rampant they are useful for colonising dry shady areas where not much else will grow. The flowers occur in short spikes and are usually purple, yellow or white.
