Ajuga
Ajuga is a mint family (Labiatae) genus of around 40 species of annuals and perennials found through much of temperate Eurasia. Many different cultivars of Ajuga reptans are available, including pink- and white-flowered forms and many different foliage colours. It is a tough ground cover that grows to about 10 cm × 60 cm with spikes of purplish blue flowers. Ajuga grows in the sun or shade and most cultivars will spread rapidly if left unchecked. Ajuga genevensis and Ajuga pyrimidalis are non-invasive species that are taller than A. reptans but which have similar purplish blue flowers. All are easily grown from cuttings or self-rooted layers.
