Aconitum - Monkshood, Friar's Cap
Stock photos of Monkshood or Friar's Cap (plants of the genus Aconitum), of which their are some 100 species of annuals, biennials and perennials spread over much of the temperate Northern Hemisphere. They from clumps of deeply lobed basal foliage from which emerge upright stems topped with hooded flowers that open in mainly in summer and autumn. The flowers are most often cream to yellow or blue to purple shades. Most species are toxic and some have been used make poisons.
