Xanthosoma - Yautia, Tannia
Stock photos of Yautia or Tannia (plants of the genus Xanthosoma). This tropical American genus is made up of 40-50 species of tuberous-rooted evergreen perennials with large heart- to arrowhead-shaped leaves. They are members of the Arum family (Araceae) and have the typical Aroid flowerhead made up minute flowers on a spadix surrounded by leafy spathe. The flowerheads of most species are not particularly showy and they are grown mainly as foliage plants. Several species, such as Xanthosoma saggitifolium and Xanthosoma violaceum, hve edible tubers and are cultivated for these.
