Homalocladium - Centipede Plant
Stock photos of Centipede Plant (Homalocladium platycladum), the sole species in its genus and native to New Guinea and the Solomon Islands. It is leafless and is also known as Ribbon Bush or Tapeworm Plant, both names given to it because of its flattened, segmented green stems that perform the functions of leaves. Clusters of small cream flowers appear at the stem nodes and open from purple-pink buds. The main stems can grow to as much as 1.2m long and this plant is usually cultivated in hanging baskets.
