Helianthus - Sunflower

Stock photos of sunflowers (plants of the genus Helianthus) of which there are around 70 species. They are quick-growing, mainly late summer-flowering annuals and perennials native to the Americas. The best known species is the Giant Sunflower (Helianthus annuus), an annual up to 5m tall that is valued as an ornamental for its large, showy flowerheads and as a commercial crop for its oil-rich edible seeds. Most other sunflowers are considerably smaller, though many will grow to over 2m tall.
