Haemanthus - Blood Lily, Paintbrush, Cape Tulip
Stock photos of plants of the genus Haemanthus, a group of around 20 species of bulbs found in South Africa and Namibia. They are distinctive plants, usually with just a few broad, strappy leaves that emerge from a partly exposed bulb. The short, sturdy flower stems are topped with densely packed filamentous flowers that are often bright orange red but which may also be darker red, yellow or white. The appearance of the tuft of flowers on the stem is the reason for the common name of Paintbrush.
