Fascicularia
Stock photos of plants of the genus Fascicularia, a genus of 5 species of stemless or very short-stemmed terrestrial bromeliads native to Chile. The best-known species is Fascicularia bicolor, which is fairly typical of the genus, having rosettes of massed long, narrow, toothed silver-grey foliage and flowerheads that are somewhat hidden at the centre of the rosettes. Presumably so that these concealed flowers are more visible to pollinators, the foliage around them turns bright red as the flowers near opening. These are relatively hardy bromeliads that can be grown outdoors in many mild temperate areas.
