Farm Clearance Auction

Scenes from an auction clearance of the machinery and sundry equipment of a farm near Horarata, Canterbury, New Zealand. This former cropping and sheep farm is being turned into a huge field for irrigated dairy production. Such dairy conversions are rampant in Canterbury in the early 21st century, even though the area is subject to drought and requires extensive irrigation. It is a very controversial subject with the public and farmers.
