Cornus
Cornus is the genus most commonly referred to as Dogwood. They are Northern Hemisphere shrubs, mostly deciduous, with strongly veined leaves of variable shape. Some have foliage that colours well in autumn, others have brightly coloured winter stems. The flowers small, usually white, but massed in heads or surrounded by large bracts that may change colour with age. The fruits may also be colourful.
