Dischidia - Million Hearts
Stock photos of Million Hearts (plants of the genus Dischidia), a group of around 80 species of epiphytic plants of the milkweed family (Asclepiadaceae) found in the tropical to subtropical regions of India, Southeast Asia and southern China. They mostly have a trailing habit and in cultivation are consequently treated as a hanging basket plants. Some are simple trailing plants with small, sometime silvery leaves and upturned heads of tiny flowers, but some species develop unusual modified leaves that contain roots and which may cling to surfaces. Ants live within the shelter of these bullate or imbricate leaves and help to protect the plants.
