Kiwifruit - Actinidia
Stock photos of Kiwifruit (plants of the genus Actinidia), of which there are some 40 species found throughout temperate East Asia.
The common green-fleshed kiwifruit (Actinidia deliciosa) and the more recently introduced gold-fleshed kiwifruit, which is a hybrid between Actinidia deliciosa and Actinidia chinensis, are both deciduous vine fruits native to China but they were developed as commercial crops in New Zealand.
The golden kiwifruit is smaller, smoother, sweeter and has fewer seeds than the green and also differs in the shape of the blossom end of the fruit. The small, berry-like Actinidia arguta is also being promoted as a commercial fruit crop.
