Banana - Musa
A page of stock pictures of bananas (genus Musa), both plants and fruit. There are many different types of banana and most of those with edible fruits are hybrids or sterile clones. The two species most often involved are Musa acuminata and Musa balbasiana. Hybrids between these two species are sometimes known by the name Musa x paradisiaca. Not all bananas are the familiar sweet dessert fruits. Many have dense, starchy flesh that requires cooking. These bananas are known as plantains.
