Nepenthes - Pitcher Plant
Stock photos of Pitcher Plants (plants of the genus Nepenthes), of which there are some 70 species found from Madagascar and the Seychelles through tropical Asia to northern Queensland. These tropical species should not be confused with the hardier genus Sarracenia from North America, the species of which are also known as Pitcher Plants. Nepenthes are mainly scrambling or climbing plants and in cultivation they are often grown in hanging baskets. As with most carnivorous plants they have rather specific soil and humidity requirements and consequently they are usually treated as greenhouse or terrarium plants.
