Red Poll Cattle
Stock photos of Red Poll cattle. The Red Poll is a beef and dairy breed that is particularly long-lived. It is a large, heavy animal with good fertility. Developed in the 19th century from Norfolk Red and Suffolk Dun cattle, it first appeared at a Royal Show in 1862, though it was another 26 years before a breed society was formed. Despite being a good producer, docile and fairly easy on the land, the Red Poll is probably now more common in Australia and New Zealand than in its British homeland.
