Holstein Friesian Cattle
This is a page of stock pictures of Holstein Friesian cattle. Probably the most widely used dairy breed, the modern Holstein-Friesian is based on the Dutch Friesian and American Holstein, which is itself a development of the Friesian. The original American Holstein was developed into a very large animal, while the Dutch Friesians were bred to be more compact. These days, however, almost all such animals are hybrids between the two strains and tend towards the larger size, often to the detriment of their ability to calve by themselves.
