Strathnaver Monument
On a hill at the Burnett family farm of Strathnaver, near Cave, South Canterbury, New Zealand there is a memorial and gravesite. Three generation of the Burnetts farmed at Strathnaver and the monument mainly commemorates four of the second generation's five daughters. It is constructed from stone taken form the Burnett's Mount Cook farm. The inscription on the cross reads: "In memory of Andrew Burnett of Mount Cook, who to found a home below the snow line freeholded the valley to the south of this cross in 1872. An honest man is the noblest work of God."
