Matanaka Farm Buildings

The farm buildings at Matanaka, a coastal area north of Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand are the oldest of their type in New Zealand. They date from 1840 and were part of the farm of Johnny Jones, a local businessman who led a colourful life. Always isolated, the buildings represent the lifestyle of the small, self-sufficient community that lived on the farm and include a stable, schoolhouse and granary.
