Amorphophallus - Devil's Tongue, Snake Palm
Stock photos of Devil's Tongue or Snake Palm (plants of the genus Amorphophallus), a genus of around 90 species of corms of the arum family (Araceae) found in the Old World tropics and subtropics. They are renowned for their amazing flowerheads, some of which are among the largest produced by any plants, especially that of the Titan Arum (Amorphophallus titanum). As with many such aroids, especially those with red-brown flowerheads, they are pollinated by flies and have a rather unpleasant smell that attracts these pollinators. Despite this, these plants are still sought after by collectors, even those in temperate areas where the plants need heated greenhouse conditions.
