Limestone formations in the area above Cave Stream, Canterbury New Zealand. Such formations occur through much of the hill country of Canterbury but are at their most spectacular in the area between Castle Hill and Flock Hill, which is a vivid illustration of the combined power of plate tectonics, sudden geological movement and millions of years of erosion.
