Stock Photo: Newborn Coopworth Twin Lambs Image ID CFG8849

Newborn twin lambs, not yet fully cleaned up. Until they become firmly bonded with their mothers, newborn lambs will readily approach anyone nearby. However, once they have begun to suckle readily they tend to stay fairly close to the ewe. The Coopworth is a Border Leicester/Romney cross developed at Lincoln College, New Zealand in the 1950s and 60s. It is very popular for its meat and its coarse wool.
