Picture: A small under-running stream trickling toward the beach where a slow-moving and continuous limestone soil landslide in North Canterbury, New Zealand reaches the sea. Although small, it gives some idea of the hydrostatic forces in this area of often very waterlogged ground that is constantly on the move, carrying soil and large rocks towards the sea.
