Stock Photo: Echium vulgare Image ID CFG7206
Photo Category: Echium

Picture: A field of Viper's Bugloss (Echium vulgare), a European biennial that grows to around 90cm tall. It often occurs as a wildflower of stony ground and is popular with apiarists as a nectar source. It is relatively rare to see it cultivated like this, but it is sometimes included in wildflower seed mixes and this field included a mix of flower colours, presumably for seed harvesting.
