Stock Photo: Nor'west Sky Image ID CFG5838 Photo Category: Sunsets and Skies     Picture: A sky typical of that seen when the nor'wester, a foehn wind, is blowing across New Zealand's Canterbury Plains. This shot was taken in the winter and while the nor'wester made the day mild for the time of year it was nothing like the effect in summer when the wind can raise the temperature above 35ºC with very low humidity that quickly desiccates vegetation.
