Stock Photo: 28: Ready for the Next RunImage ID CFG5367

Picture: On 3 April 2005 at the Vintage Railway and Historical Museum at Tinwald, near Ashburton, Canterbury, New Zealand an attempt was made to create a record for the greatest number of vintage chaff cutters in operation at one time. Here a chaff cutter sits ready to run, the sacks are held on chutes by spring-loaded pulleys and as they fill and become heavier they slowly drop down the chutes. When full they can be removed and new sacks put in place.
