Stock Photo: Romney CrossImage ID CFG3804

Romney Cross sheep with lamb suckling, part of an experimental flock at Lincoln University, Canterbury, New Zealand. Some of the sheep in this flock had triplet lambs, though the lambs were obviously smaller than the twins and singles. The New Zealand Romney is development of the British Romney Marsh, which first arrived in NZ in 1853. It is a tough, adaptable and self-sufficient, with good meat and fleece production.
