Santa Barbara Ceanothus (Ceanothus impressus), an evergreen, spring-flowering shrub native to California's Central Coast. It has a low, spreading habit, mounding in the centre to around 2m, with a spread of over 4m. It has small, very dark green leaves that are wrinkled, with slightly curled edges. When in bloom the plant is smothered in flowerheads.
