Mt. Tranquillon Ceanothus or Rowe Ceanothus (Ceanothus papillosus var. roweanus), a widely grown variety of a Californian species. It is a spreading evergreen spring-flowering shrub up to 4m tall. The leaves are smaller and narrower than those of the species. Flower colour varies somewhat from quite a bright mid-blue to deep blue.
