Picture: The dried and open seedpods of Kaihua or New Zealand Jasmine (Parsonsia heterophylla) showing the downy seeds before they are distributed by the wind. This evergreen climber is native to New Zealand where it is found throughout the country form sea level to 900m. It has distinct juvenile and adult growth phases and its flowers are pleasantly scented, especially in the evening.
