Picture: Okinawan Holly (Ilex dimorphophylla), a 1.5m tall evergreen shrub name to Liukiu Island, one of the Okinawa group. Its white flowers are followed by small red berries. The name dimorphophylla refers to the distinctly different juvenile and adult leaves. Young plants have leaves with spine tipped lobes, while the adult foliage is smooth-edged with a single spine at the tip.
