Rhododendron edgeworthii, an evergreen, spring-flowering shrub native to southwestern China and neighbouring parts of the Himalayan region. It grows to 2.5m tall, has heavily puckered leaves with dense indumentum on the undersides, and its large white and pink flowers are scented. This species was a parent of many of the first fragrant-flowered rhododendron hybrids.
