Picture: Ya Pear or Chinese White Pear (Pyrus x bretschneideri), a deciduous tree native to northern China. Its leaves are up to 10cm and when young they are downy. The ovoid, creamy white to pale yellow fruits are edible. The exact status of the species is unclear. It is obviously related to Pyrus ussuriensis but also shows the influence of Pyrus pyrifolia.
