Picture: Viola 'Maggie Mott', an evergreen perennial viola that in mild climates will flower for much of the year. The flowers are mildly scented and the colour is somewhat variable with regard to the amount of cream in the centre and the way it fades into the violet colour. 'Maggie Mott' was introduced in 1902 but did not become established as a garden favourite until the 1920s.
