Picture: The catkins of Corylus avellana 'Butler', a cultivar of the Hazel, Hazelnut or Cob Nut, a deciduous shrub or small tree to over 6m tall. The hazel is native to Europe and produces its catkins in late winter to early spring, with the fruit maturing from late summer. 'Butler' is sometimes listed as a Corylus maxima cultivar.
